Temperature Conversion Guide: How to Convert Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin

Temperature conversion is the process of expressing the same temperature measurement using a different temperature scale.

The MartTools Unit Converter supports three common temperature scales: Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin.

Celsius and Fahrenheit are commonly used temperature scales, while Kelvin is widely used in scientific and technical contexts.

The three scales use different reference points and numerical intervals, so converting between them requires the appropriate temperature formula rather than a simple multiplication factor.

To convert a temperature from Celsius to Fahrenheit, select Celsius as the From unit and Fahrenheit as the To unit.

Enter the Celsius value into the converter and the equivalent Fahrenheit temperature will be calculated automatically.

The reverse conversion changes a Fahrenheit measurement into Celsius.

Select Fahrenheit as the From unit and Celsius as the To unit, then enter the temperature you want to convert.

Celsius and Kelvin use temperature scales with the same size interval, but their zero points are different.

To convert between them, select Celsius and Kelvin as the appropriate From and To units in the converter.

Kelvin temperatures can also be converted back to Celsius. Select Kelvin as the From unit and Celsius as the To unit.

The converter applies the appropriate temperature relationship automatically rather than treating Kelvin like an ordinary scaled unit.

Fahrenheit can be converted to Kelvin by passing between the two temperature scales using their respective relationships.
